ChatGPT Ads MCP API reference

This connection uses the advertising account's Ads Management API key. An OpenAI model API key does not grant advertising access. The credential is encrypted and never returned to the assistant. Only selected accounts are reachable; native account permissions and feature eligibility still apply.

Writes require a paid plan, a saved preview, the returned confirmation token and an explicit confirm:true. New campaigns, ad groups and ads are always paused. Activation is a separate operation requiring its own preview and confirmation.

Use openai_ads_get_write_context and openai_ads_get_write_schema for compatible objectives, bidding, budgets, targeting and nested request fields. Chat-card image ads accept PNG, JPEG and WebP uploads, at least 640 × 640 pixels and up to 5 MiB for binary files. Public HTTPS image imports are also supported. Product ads require an existing ingested feed belonging to the account; business-agent campaigns require an existing native business_agent_id.

Keep stable request IDs and mutation receipts. After a timeout or uncertain response, read openai_ads_get_mutation and reconcile the native entity before continuing. Bulk changes use a distinct native schema and support validation-only. An accepted bulk job is not a completed campaign: read its terminal status, all operation outcomes and the resulting entities. Successful operations are not rolled back by a partial failure.

Report cost uses major account currency units. Native write budgets and bids use integer micros; CTR and conversion rates are fractions. Preserve the account currency, timezone, dates, attribution and completeness. Video and carousel creation, API key provisioning, billing administration, audience membership uploads and lead webhooks are outside this connector's scope.

Absent from the tool list on the Free plan. Each one previews by default and needs a second call with confirm: true.

Tools marked Announced appear in your client's tool list. The rest are reachable through search_tools and run_tool, which run the same checks.
