# Read Pinterest trends for timing decisions

> Tier: recipe. Operating recipe: real tool sequence, core rules, known traps.

The trends read: category curves and their calendar, the timing layer of Pinterest planning.

**Intent.** What rises, when it peaks, for the market in question.

## When to use

- Seasonal planning.
- Launch timing.

## When not to use

- Multiplying trend indices into revenue: they are relative curves.

## Sources

Required: Pinterest Ads

## Preconditions

- The account is ticked in the dashboard, confirmed via list_accounts.

## Inputs

- `window`: Analysis window. Default: last 30 days.

## Procedure

1. Pull trends for the categories and market. — tools: `pinterest_get_trends`
2. Mark peak windows against the launch calendar.

## Decision rules

- **When** The trend peaks N weeks before the purchase season → **conclude** Launch before the peak: on Pinterest, demand plans ahead; quote the curve.

## Evidence requirements

- Every figure carries its account, metric and window.
- Anything below a readable sample size is reported as unjudged, not as zero.

## Human approval boundary

- The readout changes nothing. Any change it motivates goes through Safe Writes: preview, human confirmation, then apply.

## Failure modes

- Trends are relative indices: no absolute volume lives in them.

## Output

- **Readout**: The figures, with windows and accounts named.
- **Flags**: What deserves a deeper skill or a human decision.
