# x_ads_update_custom_audience_users

> Add or remove people of an X customer list custom audience from normalized SHA-256 emails and phone numbers, in one batch of at most 2,500.

Add or remove people of an X customer list custom audience from normalized SHA-256 emails and phone numbers, in one batch of at most 2,500. X matches them in 6 to 8 hours and targets the list once it has at least 100 active matched people. Preview by default. Ask the user to approve the exact account, audience and counts before confirm:true.

> **Note** Connect your own X Ads account and select the advertisers to expose. Free permits reads; Pro, Team and Enterprise permit writes. Reconnect older connections for media.write. X controls account verification and delivery eligibility.

> **Warning** This tool changes the account. It is absent from the tool list on the Free plan, and it previews by default: without `confirm: true` it describes the change and applies nothing.

## Parameters

| `account_id` | string | Required | X Ads account ID selected in Sources. |
| `custom_audience_id` | string | Required | Customer list (CRM) custom audience of this account, from x_ads_create_custom_audience. |
| `operation` | string | Optional | Update adds these people; Delete removes them. One of: `Update`, `Delete`. Default: `"Update"`. |
| `members` | array | Required | People of the list, one entry each, as normalized SHA-256 digests only. Never raw personal data. Previews count them without showing a digest. |
| `confirm` | boolean | Optional | False previews only; true applies this exact change after explicit human confirmation. Default: `false`. |
