# x_ads_rename_line_item

> Rename an X Ads line item (ad group). A write tool that previews before it changes anything, one of 46 X Ads tools on the Get MCP Ads MCP gateway.

Rename an X Ads line item (ad group). The name is the only thing that changes. Previews by default.

> **Note** Connect your own X Ads account and select the advertisers to expose. Free permits reads; Pro, Team and Enterprise permit writes. Reconnect older connections for media.write. X controls account verification and delivery eligibility.

> **Warning** This tool changes the account. It is absent from the tool list on the Free plan, and it previews by default: without `confirm: true` it describes the change and applies nothing.

## Parameters

| Name | Type | Required | Notes |

| `account_id` | string | Required | X Ads account ID selected in Sources. |
| `line_item_id` | string | Required | Line item (ad group) ID belonging to the selected X Ads account. |
| `name` | string | Required | New name, 1 to 255 characters. This is the only thing the call changes. |
| `confirm` | boolean | Optional | False previews only; true applies this exact rename after explicit human confirmation. Default: `false`. |
