# Alternatives

Each page states what the product does well, when to stay with it, and several options rather
than one. Rows where the other product wins are stated as plainly as ours: a comparison an
agent can trust is one that concedes something checkable.

## Pipeboard alternatives, compared honestly

Pipeboard is a hosted MCP gateway for advertising, and the most commercially mature product in this space. It covers five ad platforms plus Google Analytics 4 and Merchant Center, and it leans into execution: duplicating campaigns, editing in bulk, uploading creative in batches. If that is the work, it does it and most alternatives do not.

**Stay with Pipeboard if**

- Duplicating campaigns, ad sets and ads is a daily move. It is shipped there and does not exist here.
- You upload creative in batches, or join from Dropbox and Google Drive.
- You edit in bulk across many ad sets rather than one confirmed change at a time.
- You advertise on Snap or Reddit, or you need Google Merchant Center.

**Why people look elsewhere**

- **Your questions reach into search and analytics.** Google Search Console is not listed among its sources, and Google Analytics 4 is mentioned rather than documented as a full surface. If half your questions start in organic search or in funnels, that is a gap no execution feature closes.
- **You want a written rule about writes.** Preview-then-confirm is not documented as a product rule on their pages. That is not the same as saying writes are unsafe: it means the guarantee is not something you can point at before granting access.
- **You want to run the server yourself.** Their Meta server is source-available under the BSL and delivered as a hosted service. If your constraint is that the platform token never leaves your infrastructure, a permissive licence and a self-hostable package are different requirements.
- **You only need one platform.** A gateway is a layer. If every question you ask is a Meta question, the platform's own MCP server is free, first-party, and puts no third party in the token path.

**The options**

- **Get MCP Ads** (Reading, diagnosis and cross-platform questions): Six sources on one URL, with Google Analytics 4 and Search Console as full surfaces rather than mentions: 18 Search Console tools, funnels and realtime on GA4. Every write previews before it applies and campaigns are created paused. The six platform adapters are Apache 2.0 and can be self-hosted with your own token.
- **The platforms' own MCP servers** (One platform, no third party in the token path): Meta, Google, TikTok and others publish first-party servers. They are free, they receive new API surfaces first, and they answer for their own platform only. If your work is single-platform, this is usually the honest answer.
- **MCP Ads (mcp-ads.com)** (LinkedIn Ads, or maximum raw API surface): A different product with a confusable name. It covers LinkedIn, which neither Pipeboard nor Get MCP Ads does, and announces thousands of generated tools. The trade is selection cost: a large catalogue spends context before it answers.
- **Building against the APIs directly** (A fixed, repeated workflow that never changes): If the job is one report on a schedule, an MCP server is a layer you do not need. The platform SDKs are public and a cron job has no context window to spend.

**Questions**

*Is there a free alternative to Pipeboard?*

Several, depending on what you need. The platforms' own MCP servers are free and first-party, and enough when your work stays on one platform. Get MCP Ads has a free read-only plan, and its six platform adapters are Apache 2.0, so you can self-host them with your own token at no cost at all.

*Is there an open-source alternative to Pipeboard?*

Yes. The six Get MCP Ads platform adapters are Apache 2.0, published on npm under @getmcpads and in the official MCP registry under com.getmcpads. Pipeboard's Meta server is source-available under the BSL, which permits reading the source but not the same reuse.

*What does Pipeboard do that no alternative here does?*

Execution at volume. Duplicating campaigns, ad sets and ads, editing in bulk, and uploading creative in batches are shipped there and do not exist in Get MCP Ads. Snap Ads, Reddit Ads and Google Merchant Center are also theirs alone in this comparison.

*Can I use Pipeboard and another MCP server at the same time?*

Yes. They are separate MCP connections and clients hold several. A common arrangement is one product for execution and another for reading across platforms, since those are the two halves that rarely live in the same tool.

## MCP Ads alternatives, and why the names are confusable

Verified on 2026-08-31. Sources: https://mcp-ads.com, https://mcp-ads.com/docs.

MCP Ads, at mcp-ads.com, is a hosted MCP product covering Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Google Analytics 4 and Search Console, announcing over three thousand callable tools generated from the platform APIs. It is a separate company from Get MCP Ads, at getmcpads.com. The names are close enough that people arrive at one looking for the other, which is the first thing worth settling.

**Stay with MCP Ads (mcp-ads.com) if**

- You advertise on LinkedIn. Neither Get MCP Ads nor Pipeboard covers it.
- You want the widest possible raw API surface and accept doing the selection yourself.
- Their built-in strategy workflows match how you already work.

**Why people look elsewhere**

- **Tool selection is costing you more than the answer.** A generated catalogue maximises what is reachable by name. It also means the model chooses among thousands of signatures before it can act, and every announced tool is context spent on every question, including the ones that never call it.
- **You want a written boundary on writes.** Ask any product whether a write previews before it applies and whether campaigns are created paused. These are the two questions that decide what a mistake costs, and the answers should be published rather than inferred.
- **You need Pinterest Ads.** It is not listed among their sources.

**The options**

- **Get MCP Ads** (Calls that succeed on the first try): 185 hand-described tools with typed parameters, across 6 sources on one URL. Fewer tools than a generated catalogue, each with a written description saying what it returns and in what units. Writes preview before applying, campaigns are created paused, and the adapters are Apache 2.0 if you would rather self-host.
- **The platforms' own MCP servers** (One platform, first-party, free): If your questions stay inside a single platform, its own server is free and receives new API surfaces first. No gateway to evaluate, and no third party holding the token.
- **Pipeboard** (Execution: duplication, bulk edits, creative upload): The most commercially mature product in this space, strongest where the work is building and duplicating structures rather than reading them. It covers Snap and Reddit, which the others do not.

| Capability | MCP Ads (mcp-ads.com) | Get MCP Ads | Edge |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| LinkedIn Ads | Yes | No | them |
| Raw API surface | 3,189 tools announced, generated from the APIs | 185 curated | them |
| Pinterest Ads | Not listed | Yes | us |
| Tool descriptions | Generated from the API definitions | Written by hand, with units and return shape stated | us |
| Per-source dedicated endpoints | Not documented | One per source, plus the combined URL | us |
| Write discipline | Per its documentation | Preview then confirm on every write, campaigns created paused | us |
| Self-hostable adapters | Not published | Six, Apache 2.0, on npm | us |
| Free plan | 30 tool calls a month | 200 calls per period, read only | us |
| Unlimited tier | $49 a month, unlimited calls | 39 EUR a month, unlimited calls, 5 accounts | even |

**Questions**

*Are MCP Ads and Get MCP Ads the same company?*

No. MCP Ads is at mcp-ads.com. Get MCP Ads is at getmcpads.com and is published by BENLY HLG. Neither is a rebrand, a fork or a reseller of the other. The similarity is in the names only, and it is the reason this page exists.

*Is a catalogue of three thousand tools better than one of two hundred?*

It is a different design, not a better one. A generated catalogue reaches more endpoints by name. A curated one raises the chance that the call the model chooses is the right one, because every tool carries a written description of what it returns and in what units. Which matters more depends on whether your bottleneck is coverage or accuracy.

*Which one supports LinkedIn Ads?*

MCP Ads does. Get MCP Ads does not, and has no LinkedIn source shipped or announced. If LinkedIn is a requirement, that settles it before any other column.

## Alternatives to the platforms' own ads MCP servers

The advertising platforms are publishing their own MCP servers. Meta hosts one, Google ships a self-hosted package, TikTok publishes two URLs, Microsoft runs an open pilot. Where one exists it is the reference for its own API: it is free, it receives new surfaces first, and no third party sits in the token path. For single-platform work, that is usually the end of the question.

**Stay with the official platform MCP servers if**

- You work on exactly one platform. A gateway adds a layer and a bill for nothing.
- You want the vendor's own surface, including whatever they ship next week.
- You would rather no third party ever held a token for your accounts.
- Cost is the deciding factor. Official servers are generally free.

**Why people look elsewhere**

- **Your questions cross platforms.** An official server answers for its own platform. Asking whether search spend moved organic rankings, or which channel actually drove a week's revenue, means holding two or three servers in one context and reconciling their date semantics, their naming and their write behaviour on every question.
- **You manage accounts for other people.** A platform token generally sees every account it can see, which for an agency is every client. Per-server scoping exists where it is offered; one enforced allowlist across every source is a different guarantee.
- **Availability is gated.** Some official servers are in beta, in an open pilot, or subject to daily caps. That is normal for a new surface and it is still a constraint on whether you can build on it today.
- **Write behaviour is per server.** Each first-party server decides its own semantics for changes. Nothing wrong with any of them individually; the cost appears when four servers each have their own, and the person granting access has to learn four.

**The options**

- **Get MCP Ads** (Questions that cross platforms, and shared account scoping): 6 sources on one URL: Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Google Analytics 4 and Search Console, with one authentication, one naming convention and the same preview-then-confirm write rule everywhere. Which accounts are reachable is decided once in a dashboard and enforced server side, not per connection.
- **Several official servers, wired side by side** (Two platforms, and a client that handles it comfortably): Nothing prevents holding several MCP connections at once, and for two platforms it is often the simplest thing. The cost grows with the number of servers, not linearly: it is the reconciliation between them that gets expensive.
- **Self-hosting open-source adapters** (Keeping the platform token on your own machine): The six Get MCP Ads adapters are Apache 2.0 on npm and run over stdio with your own credentials, so nothing leaves the machine except the calls to the platform API. Same tool surface as the gateway, without the gateway.
- **Pipeboard** (Execution across several ad platforms): Strongest where the work is duplicating structures, editing in bulk and uploading creative, which official servers generally do not cover.

| Capability | the official platform MCP servers | Get MCP Ads | Edge |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Depth on its own platform | The vendor's own surface, first to get new API features | 185 tools built on the public APIs | them |
| Cost | Generally free | Free plan, then from 39 EUR a month | them |
| Third party in the token path | None | The gateway, unless you self-host the adapters | them |
| One endpoint for every platform | One server per platform, each with its own auth | One URL, or one per source if you prefer | us |
| Cross-platform questions in one context | Requires wiring several servers and reconciling their conventions | One reasoning context across Meta Ads, Pinterest Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, Search Console, Google Analytics 4 | us |
| Shared account scoping | Per server, when offered | One dashboard decides what every tool can reach, enforced server side | us |
| Consistent tool semantics | Each server names and shapes things its own way | Same conventions and the same preview-then-confirm writes on every source | us |
| Analytics next to the ad data | GA4 and Search Console are separate servers again | Both are full sources among the six | us |

**Questions**

*Should I use the official MCP server or a gateway?*

Use the official server if you work on one platform and your client handles the connection comfortably. It is free, first-party and puts nobody between you and the API. A gateway earns its place when the question crosses platforms, because reconciling several servers with different authentication, naming and write semantics inside one context is where the time actually goes.

*Can I use an official server and a gateway together?*

Yes. They are separate MCP connections and nothing prevents a client from holding both. A common setup is the official server for deep work on its own platform, and a gateway for the questions that span several.

*Are the official advertising MCP servers free?*

Generally yes, and that is a real advantage over any paid gateway. If cost decides and one platform is enough, the first-party server wins on that column and it is not close.

*Which official ads MCP servers exist today?*

The set changes often, which is why this page carries a verification date rather than a fixed list. What is stable is the structure: an official server answers for its own platform's API, receives that platform's new surfaces first, and does not answer questions about any other platform.
